The advanced level of this monitoring service requires that the device supports Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) communication to provide comprehensive monitoring. If SNMP communication is not available with the device, then basic up/down status monitoring can be employed. Any monitored item that is detected to be outside normal operational levels produces a notification so that any necessary remedial action can be enacted in a timely manner.
